Reverse Grip Pulldowns
Exercise Advice: Position yourself on the lat pulldown machine and grab the bar with an underhand grip with your hands about shoulder width apart. Simply pull the bar straight down in front of you until it is about even with the middle of your chest. Slowly return the weight to the start position and repeat.
Pullups
Exercise Advice: This is your basic core pullup exercise. Grab a pullup bar with an overhand grip with your hands just beyond shoulder width apart. Simply lift your entire body upward as high as you can. Return to the start position and repeat until failure.
Straight Arm Pulldowns
Exercise Advice: Stand behind a lat pulldown machine and grab the pulldown bar with you arms completely extended. Simply lower the bar so as to try and touch the bar to your thighs while keeping both arms completely straight throughout the entire movement. Slowly return the weight to the start position and repeat.
V Bar Pulldowns
Exercise Advice: This is the same exercise as the close grip front lat pulldowns except that you will use a V Bar instead of the regular lat pulldown bar. If you are unsure as to what a V Bar is, ask a trainer at your gym to point one out to you. Simply pull the V Bar straight down in front of you until it is about even with the middle of your chest. Slowly return the weight to the start position and repeat.
V Bar Pullups
Exercise Advice: Grab a V Bar and place it on a pullup bar so that the handles of the V Bar are hanging over the sides so that you can grip it with both hands and support your body weight. Simply pull your body up so as to try and touch you chest to the pullup bar. Return to the start position and repeat until failure.
Wide Grip Pulldowns
Exercise Advice: Position yourself on the lat pulldown machine and grab the bar with an overhand grip with your hands as wide apart as possible. Next, simply pull the bar straight down in front of you until it is about even with the middle of your chest. Slowly return the weight to the start position and repeat.
Wide Grip Rear Pulldowns
Exercise Advice: Position yourself on the lat pulldown machine and grab the bar with an overhand grip with your hands as wide apart as possible. Next, simply pull the bar down behind your neck until it touches the back of you neck. Slowly return the weight to the start position and repeat.
Wide Grip Pull Ups
Exercise Advice: Find a pullup bar and grab the bar with your hands as wide apart as comfortably possible using and overhand grip. Next, simply pull your body up as high as possible so as to try and touch the back of you neck to the pullup bar. Slowly return to the start position and repeat.
